How to Download Kwai Videos on Any Phone or PC
Copy the Kwai share link, paste it into the downloader and save the MP4 to Android, iPhone or PC. No app, no login, and fixes for links that fail.
Already have a link? Paste it into the downloader and skip ahead.
Open the downloaderIn the Kwai app, tap Share on the video and choose Copy link. Paste it into the Kwai video downloader, tap Find video, then Download MP4. You don’t need a Kwai account, and you don’t need to install anything.
Kwai is the international app from Kuaishou Technology, the company behind Kuaishou in China. On Apple’s App Store it’s published by JOYO TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. The two apps share an owner but not their videos or their links, and that difference matters when you download. If your app’s menus are in Chinese, you’re on Kuaishou, and the Kuaishou guide is the one you want.
The quick version
- Open the video in Kwai and tap Share.
- Tap Copy link. The label follows your app’s language.
- Open the downloader in any browser and paste.
- Tap Find video, then Download MP4.
The rest of this page covers what can go wrong at each step. Kwai has a few quirks that Kuaishou doesn’t.
Getting the right link
From the Kwai app
The link Kwai copies usually starts with https://k.kwai.com/p/. That’s a short link. When the downloader opens it, Kwai redirects to the full video page, and the tool follows it there. Some app languages add a line of text around the link. Paste the whole thing, because the tool finds the link inside.
From kwai.com
Open the video in your browser and copy the address bar. These all work:
| Address | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Video page with username | www.kwai.com/@name/video/52... | The best one. Caption and creator name show up. |
| Video page without username | www.kwai.com/video/52... | Works, but the caption and creator may be blank |
| Mobile video page | m.kwai.com/photo/150.../52... | Works |
An address that stops at @name is the creator’s profile, not a video. The tool can’t do anything with it.
Snack Video is a different case
In Pakistan, India and Indonesia, the company’s app has also gone by the name Snack Video. Snack Video links don’t work in the downloader yet. Only Kwai and Kuaishou links do.
What you get from a Kwai video
Kwai gives you fewer buttons than Kuaishou. You’ll see:
- Download MP4: the video in H.264, the format every phone, computer and editor plays. Of the Kwai videos I’ve tested, one came out at 720 x 1280 and two at 576 x 1024. It depends on the upload. You get the one H.264 file Kwai’s page plays, so there’s no bigger version to pick.
- Download cover image: the thumbnail, usually as a WebP picture. Most phones and browsers open WebP. Some older Windows photo viewers don’t.
There’s no separate audio button for Kwai. Kwai’s video page doesn’t list the soundtrack as its own file, so the sound is only inside the MP4. If you need just the audio, save the MP4 and extract it later.
About the logo: when an app saves a video with its own button, it often stamps its logo and the creator’s handle on top. The downloader saves the file from Kwai’s public video page instead, and none of the three copies I checked had a Kwai logo. Text and stickers the creator added are part of the video, so they stay.
Where the file goes
| Device | Where to look | Full steps |
|---|---|---|
| Android | The Download folder. Google Photos and Samsung Gallery usually show it too. | Android guide |
| iPhone or iPad | Files > Downloads. Move it to Photos with Share > Save Video. | iPhone guide |
| Windows or Mac | Your Downloads folder | PC and Mac guide |
When a Kwai link fails
Kwai reports problems differently from Kuaishou, so the error you see can mean more than one thing.
“The video could not be found.” This is the one you’ll hit most. When Kwai won’t show a video to a logged-out visitor, it serves its general home page instead and doesn’t say why. That covers deleted videos, and it’s how private or region-blocked ones look from outside too. The tool can’t tell them apart, so it reports them the same way. Test it by opening the link in a private browser window. If the video doesn’t play there, it won’t download.
A short link fails. If a k.kwai.com/p/ link was mistyped or cut short, Kwai answers with an error instead of a video. Copy a fresh one from the app.
“That does not look like a Kuaishou or Kwai link.” What you pasted has no Kwai address in it. This usually means a cut-off link from a chat app, or a profile link copied by mistake.
“Too many requests right now.” Each connection gets about 10 lookups a minute. On a shared VPN, other people’s lookups count against yours. Wait a minute, or switch the VPN off.
The download button stopped working. Buttons expire an hour after you look up a video. Paste the link again.
The troubleshooting guide covers the rest. If a Kwai link keeps failing and the video plays fine in a private window, send it to me. That’s how I find changes on Kwai’s side.
Reposting Kwai videos
Plenty of Kwai creators post original dances, recipes and comedy. Rewatching a saved clip offline is fine. Uploading it to your own account takes views from the person who made it, and it can get flagged as a copyright problem. Ask the creator, then credit them by name.
